As a former top Hampshire player, he likes to hit the gym and then chill out with a movie or three. Jamie King

David Macnab
David is a law graduate who has followed his son, Fraser, into tennis coaching (as the saying goes... like son, like father). An RPT Level 2 coach, his tennis philosophy is to ensure kids progress but above all have fun and keep coming back. Outside tennis, David tries to keep fit, find time for friends and loves movies, whether new or old. Every year, he and Fraser enjoy a special holiday together, just to talk drills over sundowners - that's commitment to the cause. Call David on 07502 086567 for individual lessons.
Gary Waughman (Premier Tennis Hampshire Manager)
After a successful playing career that included top level tennis in Germany, Gary has been coaching tennis for over 20 years. A Level 4 LTA accredited coach, he leads by example helping people be the best they can be - from beginners sessions and family fun to on-court fitness classes and performance tennis, Gary is there with his signature smile and sense of humour. When he's not binge-eating pizza and binge-watching Netflix, Gary can be found cheering at his daughter's equestrian events and then mucking out afterwards, where he cheers a little bit less. Call Gary on 07901 640434 for individual lessons.

Become a Premier Tennis coach

We employ coaches at different levels to run and support a wide variety of programmes. Currently, there are opportunities to coach on our club, school, park and holiday club programmes, as well as individual private lessons which we are regularly asked about.

All Premier Tennis coaches are required to be DBS checked and have the relevant first aid qualification; they must also successfully demonstrate their coaching ability and attend training sessions with our coaching team as required. Get in touch with us to find out more.

What do Premier Tennis coaches receive?

Premier Tennis coaches are rewarded well, and in return, we expect a high degree of professionalism – which is nothing less than our customers demand or deserve.

We have excellent opportunities for ongoing coach education with our in-house partner Growing the Game. This enables us to create bespoke coaching courses for achieving Level 1 and 2 or above, often at a discount, with like-minded and motivated coaches.

You will also benefit from our own additional training, as we are committed to ensuring all our coaches are fully up to speed on age-appropriate drills and teaching techniques, as well as customer service expectations.

Further off-court support is available to our in-house coaches and local partners in the form of mentoring, marketing, customer service and administration, finance and legal advice.
